CONDITIONS WE TREAT

BRAIN INJURY/TBI/ABI
There are various types of brain injuries that individuals may experience. One example is a traumatic brain injury (TBI), which can occur during incidents such as road traffic accidents. Another type is an acquired brain injury (ABI), which may result from a brain haemorrhage occurring outside of the brain within the meninges, known as subdural or subarachnoid haemorrhages. ABIs can also be caused by infections like encephalitis or meningitis, as well as specific brain tumours.
Additionally, there are other forms of brain injury, such as an anoxic brain injury, which happens when the brain is deprived of oxygen, often due to events like cardiac arrest or complications at birth.
The brain's complexity means that injuries can lead to a wide range of problems, affecting mobility, memory, speech, and attention. At NG Physio, we treat each person as an individual and concentrate on the goals you set for yourself. We work together step by step to help maximise your independence. Given the nature of brain injuries, we collaborate with carers and family members to provide support with exercises and positional changes.
Other potential issues related to brain injuries may include ataxia, altered sensation, weakness, fatigue, balance problems, and coordination difficulties. Our team possesses specialised skills designed to improve these areas.
